So here's the story. My house is pretty old, and it's had it's problems. There are a couple of leaky places in the roof, there are a lot of creeks and squeaks, and the biggest of all, the floor droops in the living room. This was caused by a leak that was near the front door, making the floor kind of cave in. The floor got so bad that it was like taking a trip on the Pippin to get to the kitchen. So, my dad and my brother decided to take a look underneath. They cut a small hole in the floor to see what they were working with and what they would have to do to fix the sagging problem. They decided afterwards that since they already had a hole in the floor, they might as well make it bigger to get a better view. Then, after the bigger hole was made, they decide to call one of my other brothers and ask him to come in to look at it. He got there, and they all decide that since half of the floor was already taken up, they should go ahead and fix half of the floor. Not long after that decision, they decide to take the whole thing up.
So at one point, there was a big hole where my living room was supposed to be. They decide to put the floor joists in place and get it ready for the sub-floor to go on. Then they said they wanted just enough plywood to make a walkway to my room and the kitchen for tonight, then finish it tomorrow. We get to Home Depot and they decide to do the whole floor tonight. So, right now, we have a shiny new plywood floor in the living room. We went from a small hole to look under the house, to a major home improvement project in a little under 2 hours. We rock!
